Roqqu, a leading cryptocurrency platform, focuses on providing a secure and user-friendly environment for trading and managing digital assets.
Role & Responsibility
As a product designer specializing in UX/UI, I was tasked with enhancing the platform's usability and functionality while addressing key user needs. Using the design thinking approach, I aimed to simplify user onboarding, improve transaction efficiency, and empower users through education and essential tools.
Understanding User Needs
To build a product that resonates with users, I began by conducting thorough research. I used a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover their pain points, frustrations, and expectations.
Identifying the Core Problems
With the research insights, I defined several key challenges:
Simplifying the KYC process to make onboarding easier and less time-consuming.
Creating a comprehensive educational platform to empower users with the knowledge needed to confidently navigate the crypto space.
Developing essential tools (rate checker, network checker, transaction checker) to give users real-time information, helping them make informed decisions.
Optimizing fiat transactions with Qash, ensuring a smooth conversion experience across various fiat currencies.
Key Findings:
Complexity of Onboarding: Many new users found the KYC process and registration flow to be time-consuming and confusing.
Lack of Educational Resources: Users expressed a desire for more educational content to help them understand cryptocurrency concepts.
Need for Essential Tools: Users sought features to track market trends, check transaction status, and compare different cryptocurrencies.
Security Concerns: Users were concerned about the security of their funds and data, especially when conducting transactions.
Redesigning the KYC Experience
I designed a simplified process that guides users step-by-step, ensuring compliance without unnecessary friction..
Simplified documentation upload: Users could easily submit identity documents via mobile or desktop.
Automated real-time verification: Integrated automated verification for faster processing.
Clear guidance: Provided users with step-by-step instructions, reducing confusion.
Designing Qash: A Fiat Based Solution
One of the primary challenges faced by cryptocurrency users is the complexity of converting fiat currencies (like USD, EUR, or NGN) into digital assets. The Qash feature was designed to address this issue by providing a simple and efficient way for users to perform fiat-based transactions within the Roqqu platform.
Creating an Engaging Academy Experience
To address the lack of educational resources for cryptocurrency users, the Academy feature was designed to provide a comprehensive learning platform within the Roqqu app. It featured:
Curated learning paths: Tailored learning journeys for both beginners and advanced users.
Interactive content: Quizzes, videos, and case studies made the learning experience more engaging.
Developing Essential Tools for Users
To provide users with the information they need to make informed decisions and troubleshoot issues, I designed the following tools:
Rate Checker: A real-time tool that displayed current exchange rates for various cryptocurrencies.
Network Checker: A feature that allowed users to check the status of different blockchain networks.
Transaction Checker: A tool that provided users with detailed information about their transaction history, including status, fees, and confirmation times.

Through my work on the Roqqu platform, I was able to contribute significantly to the development of a user-friendly and informative cryptocurrency experience.
